EDT Lesson 11
Being Calm While Driving While you may have gone through all of the basic as well as a couple of the advanced driving lessons by the time that you get to lesson 11, it's necessary that you remain cool and collected even when you enter busy thoroughfares, make a turn into crowded junctions and get into roundabouts all on your own. This lesson will also tackle skills associated with learning how to stop your car, including parking in areas which also have other parked vehicles and it's crucial that you remain calm. You must be able to anticipate and intelligently react to certain driving hazards. Contingencies such as stalling will also be addressed and you're expected to master recovering your vehicle without hesitation or prodding from your ADI. The lesson on driving calmly will help you to handle any kind of contingency you may encounter on the road with vehicles moving at different speeds. The lesson will enable you to drive in a collected, deliberate and disciplined manner despite whatever situation may arise. |
EDT Lesson 7
Sharing the Road While majority, if not all, of the learner drivers who enroll with us want to pass their driving test during their first try, the main reason for why they aren't able to meet this goal is because of lack of practice. After six lessons have already been taught, the seventh lesson will also serve as a review and synthesis of all the other skills previously learned and the complicated nature can easily intimidate any unprepared learner driver, especially since other skills will also be introduced such as entering and crossing roads, and joining the rest of the traffic. Having enough practice cannot be emphasized enough and students are encouraged to practice with their sponsors or schedule support lessons before making a schedule with their ADI for this lesson. After a learner driver is done with this lesson, he or she should be able to join thoroughfares easily and safely, and then park the vehicle on the side of the road regardless of the presence of other road users. Other skills which are taught in this lesson include driving with the presence of bikers, cyclists and other road users, and driving through slow to non-moving vehicles. The maintenance of a safe speed is another concern. Lesson seven of the EDT course looks like it is only a combination of the driving skills which were covered by the previous lessons. To be able to successfully complete this lesson, adequate practice is critical so that previous skills can be polished. The only way that a learner driver would be confident enough to drive in a challenging environment is by practicing copiously so that the skills become second nature to the pupil. Support lessons are great for acquiring that experience. Support lessons are not as rigid and intimidating as EDT courses which gives any pupil the increased ability to take in directions and follow instructions. |
